Advantages to Renting Computers for Small Businesses

Computer RentalsAnybody who has tried to run a small business or even a startup business knows that there are many obstacles in your way when it comes to getting and holding on to the latest technology out there. The amount of money it can take to acquire new computer equipment and peripherals can quickly drain your bank account. This, obviously, is a huge problem for small businesses and startups that may not have deep financial pockets.

The good news is that there are a ton of alternative options to buying new computer equipment, the most popular being a computer rental. Renting a computer instead of buying one can have many financial benefits. You can look forward to reduced upfront costs, possible tax benefits, precision budgeting with monthly payments and getting a computer rental is much easier than getting a loan from a bank to purchase everything you need.

There are also a few other advantages to renting a computer as opposed to buying one. After your rental has expired, you are then free to rent all new equipment based on what you need. Another feature is that it is more economically friendly. You don’t have to throw away your computer rental when you are done with it or when it has no more use like you do with a purchased computer. You can simply return it to whoever you rented it from.

There is also a big variety in computer rentals. You can get anything you could possibly need like a desktop rental or laptop rental. With Rentacomputer.com you can also rent a plethora of other devices like projectors, iPads, plasma screens, printers or even copiers. And acquiring one is simple. Just visit Rentacomputer.com online to get a fast and easy computer rental quote or call 877-422-1907 to speak with a Rentacomputer.com Customer Service Representative.

The Importance of Business Meetings

face to face business meetingsEverybody knows that a face to face discussion with somebody is far better than any conference call or email exchange. Some of the very best ideas in the business world have come to fruition due to a face to face meeting between two or more people. The environment is a lot different when business professionals from similar industries gather together to brainstorm ideas than it is with something like email or newsgroup. In a lot of cases, some ideas are created that would never had been possible without a face to face discussion.

Now, there is no hiding the value of personal meetings, but there are also certain costs that affect different business professionals in different ways. Sure a small gas or lunch fee won’t set your average businessman back too much, but some travelers are forced to pay for things like airfare, hotel and travel expenses. Add to it that some major conferences and conventions have high ticket prices and your total spendings could easily rack up.

In tough economic times, these added costs could seem like easy excuses to drop a convention or conference. However, you must remember that a well planned and well executed business meeting could reap huge benefits for your company. There are a ton of benefits to having a business meeting some of which include: the development of engaged employees, improved company culture, more satisfied employees or even increased employee retention. Meetings are a great way to further not only yourself but also your company.

There is already a ton of stress in going to a convention or conference and one thing you do not need to be worrying about at the last minute is the reliability of your laptop. Maine Computer Rentals

Maine Computer Rentals

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Maine’s state gross product for 2007 was about $48 billion. I bet you didn’t know there are two products that are very important to Maine’s economy: blueberries and toothpicks. The “Pine Tree State” is the number one producer of blueberries in the United States and is also home to the largest toothpick plant in the country.  The Strong Wood Products Incorporated plant produces 20 million toothpicks a day. The state produces several other agricultural products including poultry, eggs, dairy products, apples, potatoes, maple syrup, and maple sugar. Commercial fishing is also an important part of the state’s economy. The springs in Western Maine are a major source of the country’s bottled water.

Maine’s main industrial outputs include paper, lumber, wood products, electronic equipment, leather products, food products, textiles, and bio-technology.  Bath Iron Works and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard provide the state’s economy with a big boost from naval shipbuilding, while Naval Air Station Brunswick serves as a large support base for the United States Navy. Due to outdoor recreation opportunities and beautiful scenery, tourism is an important part of the state’s income. Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, camping, and hiking are all big attractions. Also, a few major companies have headquarters in the state. These include T.D. Bank, L.L. Bean, Cole Haan, Delorme, Jackson Laboratory, IDEXX Laboratories, Unum, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Not surprisingly, Maine has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation.

With so many people working so hard in Maine, it’s no wonder the state is a popular spot for computer and other technology rentals. Omni Dallas Hotel to be Anchor Hotel of Dallas Convention Center

Omni Dallas HotelMany of you out there may not know this, but a struggle has existed for nearly 30 years now in the city of Dallas. For 30 years people have battled to get an anchor hotel set up in Dallas next to the Dallas Convention Center. An anchor hotel is a hotel built close to a popular convention center with the goal of offering rooms for attendees, planners and exhibitors to the nearby convention center. Due to the size and popularity of the Dallas Convention Center, it is surprising that there is no anchor hotel next to it already. However, all that changes in 2012 when the Omni Dallas Hotel officially opens its doors.

The hotel is said to have a total of 1,001 rooms as well as 110,000 square feet of meeting space that will include two ballrooms and multiple meeting rooms. The new hotel isn’t the only new addition to the Dallas Convention Center area. The center itself is going through a renovation as well. The renovations to the Dallas Convention Center will add on a total of 20,000 extra square feet of exhibit space and will also include improvements to all the existing meeting rooms according to President and CEO of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau Phillip Jones.

The anchor hotel is going to mean big things for the Dallas Convention Center. According to Jones, more than 80 large conventions made it clear that they would be unable to bring their events to the Dallas Convention Center without an anchor hotel. Now that the hotel is a reality, some pretty exciting things have already started to occur. The hotel already has an estimated economic impact of $1.3 billion in new business as well as $1.7 billion in the pipeline. “There are a number of groups we have booked in the last year that are because of the new hotel,” Jones said.

One of the very first groups that will be able to access the hotel in January 2012 is the American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition, which attracts more than 10,000 visitors and 17,500 room nights which are worth an estimated $25 million. According to Jones, “ALA booked before the hotel was in place, but certainly they are very keen on using the space. In the coming year”, Jones added, “there are several groups booked, many of them medical, ranging in size from 10,000 to 40,000 attendees.”

“The hotel is absolutely meeting and exceeding our expectations,” Jones said. “It’s not only the hotel; it’s also $12 billion in improvements to the city itself.”  According to Jones, the fight to get the hotel up wasn’t easy. There were some pretty staggering obstacles in the way, including a $10 million “negative” ad campaign. “Fortunately, the public now sees the benefits. The community is being very positive, they are seeing the building take shape and impact our skyline.”

The hotel contains 5 restaurants and sports bars that are open to the public and discussions to add even more restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment to the surrounding area could turn the Omni Dallas Hotel into the hotspot of Dallas. The Dallas Convention Center is certainly going to get a large boost in business, which means an increase in the need for Dallas Computer Rentals from Rentacomputer.com. Rentacomputer.com offers a full range of computer and av rentals for any type of convention, conference or meeting. A Tech Travel Agent can get you a fast and easy Dallas computer rental quote allowing you to get any type of technical rental anywhere in the Dallas area.

Rent A Computer for Your Next Flight

in-flight wi-fiThere’s always the dilemma of what to do when you’re on a long flight. Whether your trip is for business or pleasure, it’s very easy to get bored while up in the air. Well, U.S. flights are working to make air travel a more enjoyable experience or a more productive time for their travelers.

As of now, one-third of U.S. flights are Wi-Fi friendly. Virgin Flights and AirTran can boast that they offer on-board Wi-Fi on every single one of their planes. Despite this, the New York Times says that Delta has the most planes with Wi-Fi access. Nearly all of their 500 different planes offer their travelers Gogo-based Internet access.

Other airlines are moving in the Wi-Fi direction as well. JetBlue and Continental Airlines are currently testing out Wi-Fi on their planes, and all other airlines seem to have at least some form of Wi-Fi available on some of their flights. Southwest Airlines claims that by 2012 all of their planes will be equipped with Wi-Fi capabilities, although as of now, only 6 of their 540 planes feature the amenity.

In a few years I’m sure that in-flight Wi-Fi capabilities will be completely standard. Although we haven’t gotten to that point yet, there are still plenty of airlines that offer the service. It’s a great way to keep yourself entertained while traveling for fun or to utilize your valuable time while traveling for business.

Renting a laptop to stay in touch with friends and family during vacation or to take with you on a business trip is a fantastic idea. Rentacomputer.com is the best place to take care of all your technology rental needs. A tech travel agent is available to assist you with all of your rentals at 1-800-736-8772 or click here for an online rental quote. All Rentacomputer.com laptops come standard with wireless network cards that can connect to the Wi-Fi currently being used by airlines.
