Rentacomputer.com Offers IMAG System Rentals

IMAG System Rental From Rentacomputer.comTech Travel Agents with Rentacomputer.com now offer complete IMAG System Rentals, which are a great asset to have when planning a large event. IMAG stands for Image Magnification, and IMAG Systems are networks of video cameras that allow for dynamic documentation of large events.

Let All Attendees Feel Close To The Action
What an IMAG System allows event planners to do is setup cameras at various angles and viewpoints, all of which are live, but a central operator can creatively cut away and cross-fade between cameras and angles of view. For an event with thousands of attendees this is invaluable, since this footage can be shown on very large screens, so that no one misses the action.

Profit From Your IMAG System Rental
Not only do IMAG Systems allow for aesthetically appealing displays of the event, during the event, but the captured footage can all be stored as well, allowing camera operators to document the event and present all footage captured from the various viewpoints to an editor. Depending on the kind of event it is, attendees may jump at the chance to have a video of it as a memorial; and with carefully priced DVDs that the attendees can order before leaving the event, this can be an opportunity to profit from your IMAG System Rental!

Broadcast Quality Cameras
It is important to have ‘broadcast quality’ cameras for your IMAG System Rental, since you want the best quality possible for viewing attendees, as well as any DVDs that you might plan to market afterward.  There are many cameras that can accomplish this level of quality, but our Tech Travel Agents consider cameras like the Sony DSR-PD170 and the Sony DXC-637 to be good solid cameras that yield professional grade quality.

Peripherals & Budgeting
In addition to cameras, an IMAG System Rental also includes any and all necessary peripherals, such as tripods, studio configuration kits, lighting, switchers and record desks, and any cabling necessary for networking the cameras. Ultimately, the amount of hardware in an IMAG System Rental depends upon your budget; the more cameras you have, the more dynamic your video presentation will be, and the higher the budget needs to be. One should not, however, be discouraged by budget issues. The Tech Travel Agents at Rentacomputer.com have over 20 years of experience in dealing with the needs and the budgets of clients. Contact your Tech Travel Agent for more information on procuring a professional grade IMAG System Rental that is appropriate for your need and budget.

Direct2Drive Acquired by GameFly

GameFly and Direct2DriveGameFly, the highly popular game renting service that takes its queue from Netflix, has recently purchased Direct2Drive, the PC game download service first set up by the popular gaming website IGN. GameFly is a rental-by-mail service that allows customers to rent games for their consoles and have them delivered by mail, very similar to the way Netflix does with movies. Direct2Drive is a direct download service that is pretty much the same thing as Steam, allowing gamers to buy and download PC games directly to their hard drive without the need of physically going out and buying the game.

This new deal combines Direct2Drive’s extensive library of over 3,000 PC and Mac games with GameFly’s collection of over 7,000 new and used games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, GameCube, Nintendo DS and GameBoy Advance. According to Evan Narcisse of IFC.com, “The acquisition makes GameFly more of an analogue to Netflix than any other entity in the gaming business. Netflix offers access to content on two ways, on disc and via streaming.”

As a part of the transaction, IGN will gain a minority equity stake in GameFly. However, the website will play no direct role in the operations or governance of GameFly. News Corporation is said to be taking one observer seat on GameFly’s board as well though other terms of the deal have not been disclosed to the public.

According to CEO of GameFly David Hodess, “We’re very excited to bring the D2D team on board at GameFly and expand our ability to deliver games to consumers. Only GameFly can offer a complete library of physical and digital games for the PC, Mac and consoles in one place.”

Jorge Espinel of News Corp. Digital Media Group added, “GameFly has been an innovator in the video games industry, and it continues to evolve with the expansion of its digital offering. We’re excited to continue working and partnering with GameFly moving forward.”

The addition of PC games to GameFly’s library is a major step forward for the company. While console gaming is red hot right now, there are a lot more PC gamers out there. In addition to that, PC gamers are largely considered to be the more “hard core” gamers, so aiming at this market should bring nothing but profit for GameFly.

InfoComm 2011 Announces Focus on IT

InfoComm 2011InfoComm 2011, one of the biggest information technology conventions in the world, has just announced the primary focus of this year’s event. The main focus of the 2011 InfoComm will be computer tech and everything that goes along with it.

Set to take place June 11th through the 17th at the Orange County Convention Center, InfoComm 2011, which also incorporates the Systems Integration Expo, is expected to bring in over 32,000 attendees as well as over 950 exhibitors according to event organizers. This year’s theme, as I already mentioned, is “The Center of IT All”. In a statement from InfoComm’s Senior Vice President of Expositions Jason McGraw, “IT is rapidly becoming central to audiovisual systems. As well, institutional buyers are now embedding AV purchases into their budgets.”

Just because InfoComm will be focusing on IT does not mean that the show has stepped back from AV technology. Instead, this new focus highlights just how well AV integrates with IT on the component and system levels. “An example of this integration,” McGraw stated, “is telepresence, which promises to be a hot item at this year’s convention. Digital signage is also well represented at InfoComm 2011, as are 2D and 3D HDTV products and applications.”

In trying to stay true to the focus of IT, the opening keynote of InfoComm 2011 will be delivered by none other than Rob Scott, Vice President and General Manager of HP Visual Collaboration. Scott will discuss “Extending the Power of Personal Connections” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14.

Scott’s speech will look at how high-definition video is being used by businesses “to extend natural visual experiences across the enterprise.” Simplified, this means that companies are spending money on HDTV-based videoconferencing in order to cut travel expenses while bringing staff in different locations together on a single product.

Other big events at this year’s show include the InfoComm Opening Reception on the evening of June 14th; Rental and Staging Forum and Reception on June 15th; PAMA Manufacturers’ Forum Panel on the Future of Audio Networking on June 16th and Best Practices Plenary Session on June 18th.

The 2011 InfoComm will be taking place from Saturday, June 11th until Friday, June 17th, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orange County, California.

Power Point Projectors
Most business class projectors will do a good job displaying your PowerPoint presentation. If you have a small presentation group, a 2000 lumen LCD projector will be able to produce a nice and clear picture. For larger audiences you should consider a 5000 lumen LCD projector.
