Since her sister Susan G. Komen’s death in 1982, Nancy G. Brinker promised that she would do everything she could to end breast cancer forever. This pledge became Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a global breast cancer movement. Since its inception, The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has raised nearly $2 billion to fulfill the promise of working to end breast cancer. Komen for the Cure is proud to reveal that since 1990 there has been a 33 percent decline in breast cancer mortality.
