We could see the Samsung Galaxy S5 much sooner than expected. Rumors say that Samsung is rushing to replace the S4 due to a massive decrease in sales.
About 40 million Galaxy S4’s have been shipped out total, but the phone has seemed to reach its peak. Consumers are now flocking to the more recent flagship models: The iPhone 5S and Sumsung’s own Galaxy Note 3.
It was expected that sales would be great during the holiday season, but as it turns out, the phone seems to have reached the end of it’s hype. Sumsung now has no choice but to rush the release of their next hot phone. According to a report from CNET, this is to be expected from a company like Samsung.
“The Korean monolith has the ability to make just about anything on a massive scale as quickly as it likes and likely has no qualms with cannibalizing sales of its zillions of other smartphone models, including the Galaxy S4,” says CNET in the same report.
It would be next to impossible for the new Galaxy phone to be released before this coming Christmas. The earliest that Samsung fans will be able to get their hands on the device is probably late February of next year if all of the current reports are true.

Last week, ETNews said that volume production of the GS5 would begin in January 2014, and Samsung will most likely be forced to put the new phone out the following month. It hasn’t even been a full year since the Galaxy S4 has been out, and if all of this is true, the new phone will be about before the S4 even sees it’s first birthday.
There are a lot of rumors about what Samsung is going to offer with the release of the Galaxy S5. According to ValueWalk.com, one of the best features is going to be a huge 4000mAh battery that would normally be found in tablets. The crazy battery life would be awesome, but the big thing on everyone’s mind is whether they will be able to stuff in that huge battery without making the phone bulky. Supposedly the introduction of YOUM display technology will solve that issue, leaving more room to keep the phone sleek.
The published patents from Apple and Samsung say that bendable display panels like YOUM will pave the way for new manufacturing techniques that make it easier to put out thin and light smartphones with much higher battery life. All of the new Technology that Samsung is putting into the new device insures that it will have crazy good specs and still look sleek all at the same time.
People who expected huge changes in the look of the phone may be disappointed. It is expected that in order to maximize flexibility and to keep costs down, Samsung is still going to use polycarbonite covering. Everyone wanted a metal chassis, and it looks like everyone might end up sad.
Either way, the phone is going to be a great mix of good looks and big specs.
