Microsoft’s Surface 2 Available On AT&T

The new Surface 2 4G LTE from Microsoft is the latest tablet offered on AT&T. Microsoft’s new tablet is now available at MicrosoftStore.com and Best Buy stores.

The Surface 2 4G LTE has basically the same specs as the Wi-Fi only version. It is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and 2GB of RAM. The only real difference is that Microsoft has added a GSM micro-sim card slot on the left side, just below the volume buttons.

Powered by a Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and 2GB of RAM, the 4G LTE version of the Surface 2 packs the same internal and external specs as the Wi-Fi only version — for the most part. Microsoft simply added a GSM micro-SIM card slot just south of the volume rocker, on the left edge.

The 8.1 inch Windows tablet comes standard with 64GB of internal storage, which should be way more than enough for anything you’ll be using it for. You can fit just about anything on it. It also comes with Microsoft Office 2013 so that you can get all of your work done and stay super organized.

AT&T offers all kinds of different data plan options, so if you need to set up a shared data plan for the company or family, they have you covered. The only downfall to that is that there is no standard price, so depending on where you live it could be more expensive. The Surface 2 4G LTE ships unlocked, but so far AT&T is the only wireless service provider that is selling the model.

There are a couple of things that you should consider when you are comparing this to the 64GB Apple iPad Air. Most people will always consider the iPad as the best option for some reason, but right off the bat you can see that the Microsoft Surface 2 4G LTE is $200 cheaper and comes with a built in Micro-HDMI output, a full size USB 3.0 port, and a MicroSDXD card reader. An iPad has… neat game apps.

The one thing that is holding the Windows tablet back is that it isn’t compatible with XP, Vista, or Windows 7 PC programs. But hey, neither is any Apple product.

No one can tell you which device will be the best one for you, but this one sure has a lot to offer. It is geared toward productivity and has cellular connectivity, so you can keep making money on the road.
