Event Dates you need to know, post-COVID Crisis

Post coronavirus event schedule

The COVID-19 crisis has left a heavy impact on the trade show and meeting industry. Most if not all face-to-face functions within the United States have been canceled through the end of April and it looks like this could just be the beginning of cancellations. Unfortunately, many of those in the meeting industry are wondering when they will see their next paycheck.

Hope on the horizon

So many contractors and freelance workers depend on these events to provide their livelihood. Businesses like production companies, rental houses, booth builders, and other companies involved in putting together these events may look quite different on the other side of the COVID-19 curve. But there is hope on the horizon. Many of these events have already started rescheduling for the fall of this year. The online trade publication, Meetings Today, lists three such expos: The International Wireless Communications Expo, The Digital Sign Expo (DSE), and The National Hardware Show (NHS).

Rescheduled Events

The International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE), originally scheduled for April 1-2, 2020, has been rescheduled for August 24-28, 2020 in Las Vegas. This four-day conference with exhibits at the Las Vegas Convention Center on August 26th and 27th. The event’s webpage touts itself as “North America’s premier critical communications event … where critical communication technology professionals gather to evaluate, learn and network with industry leaders”. Quick and efficient communication is certainly something that is very critical in today’s world.

The Digital Sign Expo (DSE) at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall Three has been rescheduled for September 15-18, 2020 at the same venue. By attending, you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in the world of digital signage solutions. DSE describes itself as “… a fully immersive experience that explores every aspect of digital and interactive display, from concept and design to content and analytics. It’s the world’s only comprehensive international event dedicated to digital signage solutions, where every end-user vertical market is covered, from retail to entertainment—and it surrounds you with all of the buzzworthy technologies and content solutions that are transforming business communication, customer engagement and brand experiences today.” You can find out more information from the event’s website here.

The National Hardware Show (NHS) will now take place between September 1-3, 2020 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event originally scheduled for May 5-7, 2020, attracts over 30,000 professionals in the hardware industry. By attending NHS, you’ll find many opportunities including networking functions, purchasing and merchandising solutions, and cost-saving deals from the show that is celebrating its 75th year anniversary. Another event in Las Vegas that has been rescheduled is the ISC West. Dates for this show are moving from March 17-20 and will be rescheduled for July 20-22, 2020. The show is billed as “THE largest security industry trade show in the U.S.” and will take place at the Sands Expo Center. By attending, you’ll be able to network with industry professionals in the security and public safety sector, as well as gain valuable insights on new technologies from brand ambassadors.

In addition to these major conventions being rescheduled, the Las Vegas Convention Center is moving forward with its expansion project. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority “The Las Vegas Convention Center’s $980 million West Hall expansion will add 1.4 million square feet of space to the existing 3.2 million-square-foot campus. In addition to the exhibit hall, the expansion will feature a striking outdoor plaza and a grand atrium. The expansion is slated for completion in December 2020.”
