For a while now, Toshiba has been hinting at putting out a Chromebook, and now it looks like they have finally decided to pull the trigger. Toshiba has unveiled their new ChromeOS powered laptop, simply named: Toshiba Chromebook.
This new computer from Toshiba will be the very first Chromebook with a 13 inch screen. This screen size has been really popular for other types of laptops for both Mac and Windows based models, but most Chromebooks have been smaller with more of a netbook feel. Most have only has 10 inch screens or so, with the most expensive ones being just shy of 13 inches. With this screen size though, it gives Toshiba the room to give this Chromebook a full size keyboard, something most other Chromebooks lack.

The Display is 1366 x 768 pixels, which is pretty standard for a budget priced Chromebook. Unlike the display on Acer’s new Chromebook, the Toshiba’s display is not touch screen.
The Toshiba Chromebook is powered by a Haswell Celeron processor, a 16GB solid state hard drive augmented by 100GB of free Google Drive storage, it is 0.8 inches thick and weighs in at 3.3 lbs. It features two USB 3.0 ports, a full sized HDMI port, a memory card reader, a security lock slot, Bluetooth connectivity and a 2×2 802 11n Wi-Fi
One of the biggest features that Intel’s Haswell processor brings to the table is it’s energy efficiency. This helps the Toshiba Chromebook’s battery life tremendously, giving it an estimated 9 hours of life. This is yet another feature, along with the 13 inch display, that sets the Toshiba Chromebook apart from the competition.
The Toshiba Chromebook is set to come out in February of 2014. If you are into Chromebooks, or are thinking of trying one out for yourself or your business, this is a very affordable option that is packed with many features, and it may be the best one in it’s class.
