Samsung is really looking to crush the competition and bring something new to the table with the release of the Galaxy S5. Recent reports have given us some information on what to expect from their new flagship handset. So far, it appears that we can for sure look forward to better build quality and one of the best screens on the market. The release of the Galaxy S5 is going to be a massive step for Samsung.
The first thing to talk about is certainly the build quality. It has been confirmed that the Galaxy S5 will come in both metal and plastic casings. The metal build will of course be a bit more pricey, which shouldn’t be a big deal to those who have been complaining about wanting it for years. Either way, it is going to be really great to see Samsung finally offer a better alternative to plastic and make their customers happy. The metal version of the phone may not be called the Galaxy S5 though, rumors say that it may be called the “Galaxy F”.
The new handset is said to feature a 2,560 x 1440 2K display. The word is that it will be about 5.25 inches which would compete size-wise with some of the phablets on the market today. This would mean that there would be about 561 pixels per inch, making it one of the most dense displays you can get.
It is looking like there will be a major camera upgrade as well. Supposedly, we should be expecting 16 megapixels and optical image stabilization. It will also be loaded with either an Exynos 6 processor or the new Snapdragon 805 processor from Qualcomm and will run on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
It’s seeming like some of the sources that first leaked info on the S5 are actually pretty credible. Most of the rumors we have been hearing for a while are actually coming to light. There is still no word on storage or battery life yet, but we are assuming it will all be just as top notch as the rest of the phone’s specs.
Samsung hasn’t said exactly when the phone will come out, but they have said that March or April is looking pretty good.
