New Reports Point To iPhone 6 Release In September

Recently, Samsung made a huge official announcement and showed the world its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5. Since then, people have grown anxious for more information on the iPhone 6 release. There have been tons of rumors, and we have all heard about the new sapphire screens and countless other cool features that it will supposedly be sporting. But now, a few sources have given us a few signs that the new iPhone will be dropping this fall. Which, by the way, is right on schedule.

After a press release following their fourth quarter earnings for 2013, GT Advanced technologies said that 2014 was going to be a huge year for them and that they were looking forward to improving their earnings in the second half of this year. GT Advanced Technologies is the company said to be making Apple new iPhone screens and seems to be their most notable partner at the moment. Said financial improvement is thought by many to be largely due to the release of the iPhone 6.

Some rumors floating around have said that there would be a possible May or June release date, but Apple seems to be pretty consistent with their releases, and their new flagship models pretty much always get released somewhere around September. So if you look at the history of the iPhone releases, and Apple’s biggest partner in the iPhone 6 making these statements, we can start to put together a pretty clear picture.

The reports about the new iPhone screen being made out of sapphire crystal are everywhere, and even some of the most reputable and proven sources have leaked this information. They already use it to cover the camera lenses and keep them from getting scratched or damaged, and it is much more durable than the current Gorilla Glass that they are using. A sapphire crystal display would be pretty incredible and would eliminate the need for those awful screen protectors that you can never put on correctly.

The Galaxy S5 doesn’t have a scratch resistant display, and it’s pretty tough to find a legitimate smartphone on the market that does. This may be one of the biggest selling points for the new iPhone. Even if you don’t think it is that impressive of a quality at the moment, the more you think about it, the more you will appreciate it. Nothing is worse than getting an expensive new smartphone that you’re proud of, and the first time you put it in your pocket with some change or your keys, it’s messed up forever.

It’s also rumored to have a liquid-metal design of some sort and possibly solar charging capabilities. Although these rumors have way less credibility behind them, we can at least hope until we hear more. But, we know that Apple likes to deliver devices that are “almost” perfect and keep you waiting for the next release to get the good stuff, so we’ll see… Hopefully in September.
